About Sarah

Sarah was raised in Blaine, MN. She graduated from Blaine Senior High, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and completed her Master’s degree at St. Mary’s University. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Sarah always was the organizer of events and kept people connected so friendships flourished and grew from initial meetings.

As her mom and dad, we are so proud of the woman she became, her tender heart, her caring for others and their feelings, her love for her family and friends-each of who were so special to her. The desire she had to give to others and give of herself.

After college, she told me she “needed a purpose” and from this she trained with Team in Training and ran a marathon to raise money for a young girl that was ill. In junior high, she helped with a boy whose family needed extra hands and from there she worked with children that had learning difficulties and lastly working with children and adults that had lost a loved one. These were truly her gifts-her heart was open to giving and helping.

Health was a very important part of her life and running was center theme. She encouraged many people to run, even me. She said “mom, you can do it” and we did-running many runs together. Since we lost Sarah, many people have been inspired to run and be healthier-All because of one little girl that grew up to be a lovely young woman.

Sarah’s life was so full. She loved quilting, scrapbooking, sewing, reading, fancy coffees, running, massages, baking, family, friends and most of all her son, Michael. Thank you for helping to continue her desire to give back.

Remember to do all you can today, because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
